On Monday, December 22, the PIPS president, vp, treasurer and one member delivered Christmas cards to the Colonial Manor Retirement Home. It went off without a hitch – unless you count their inability to open the front door… All in all it went very well! We made lives a little brighter in the Retirement Home that day, and that’s what the season is all about.
Speaking of giving, on Tuesday, December 23, the PIPS president, vp, and one member delivered 510 letters to Santa to Macy’s Department Store. For each letter given, Macy’s donated $1.00 to the local Make A Wish Foundation. The News-Gazette was there taking pictures; so be sure to keep an eye in the paper for the article! And special thanks to Mike Howie (an Oakwood grad himself) for making it possible under such short notice for the event to be placed in the newspaper.
As the season closes quickly upon us, I want to take a chance to share with all the PIPS members how proud of you I am and how much I enjoy sponsoring you. Giving back to the community is something that takes a lot of heart – and you guys are teeming with it! Merry Christmas to all of you. Be safe and have a great holiday!
